2023 Employer Interim Filing Season Submissions (19 Sep to 31 Oct 2022)
What is the Interim Filing Season All About?
We recently posted an in-system notification letting our customers know that the employer interim filing season will run from 19 September to 31 October 2022. The interim filing season requires employers to submit accurate reconciliation declarations for the six month transaction period that runs from 1 March to 31 August 2022. These reconciliations are based on all Monthly Employer Declarations (EMP201) submitted, payments made to the South African Revenue Services (SARS), as well as Interim Employee Income Tax Certificates (IRP5/IT3) where applicable.

Additional Notice from SARS
SARS has advised employers that it is experiencing some issues with the prepopulated liabilities reflecting on its system. These issues should be visible from 17 September 2022. Please see this notice for more information. Should you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to SARS directly.
Which Platform Should You Use?
If you have less than 50 employees, you can complete the filing process using either the eFiling, or e@syFile platforms. Should you have more than 50 employees, you are required to use e@syFile. You can read more about e@syFile here, and about eFiling here.
