Payroll Processing > System Items – Allowances > Relocation Allowance

A relocation allowance refers to financial assistance provided by employers to employees who are moving for work-related purposes. Such an allowance typically covers expenses incurred during the relocation process, such as the costs of travel, settling in, and temporary accommodation.

SimplePay has a built-in item for this. A Relocation Allowance may have a taxable portion (code 3713), a non-taxable (code 3714) portion, and taxable items paid by the employer (code 3801).

To add this to the payslip:

  • Go to Employees, and select the relevant employee.
  • Click on Add (next to Payslip Inputs).
  • Select Relocation Allowance under Allowance.
  • Enter the information in the relevant fields:
    • Relocation Allowance – Taxable
    • Relocation Allowance – Non-Taxable
    • Taxable items paid by employer
  • Click Save.
